Peugeot 508 appeared in the range of the French brand in 2010, becoming the heir to two models at once – 407 and 507. Today, the second generation of the car, which debuted in early 2018, is on the assembly line. The model is currently being prepared for restyling, and we recently published renderings of the updated version . And now we decided to look into the even more distant future and imagine what a completely new generation of the company’s flagship model might look like.

It could very well be done in the style of the Inception concept , which was shown last week. One of its most characteristic features is the design of the front, which can be considered a reference to the old models of the company, including the predecessors of the 508th – Peugeot 504 and 505, produced in Europe from 1979 to 1992 (their photos are below in the gallery). At the same time, the front optics are made in the current style of the company and consist of three inclined LED strips. A similar solution was applied to the lanterns, which are also located at a negative angle. As for the sidewalls, they are made “clean” with a minimum number of stampings and retractable door handles.

While it’s too early to talk about the technical features of the future 508, we can only assume that it will receive an all-electric version similar to the concept. Inception is built on the  STLA Large modular electric vehicle platform , first announced in 2021. It is equipped with two electric motors (one for each axle) producing a total of 500 kW (680 hp). The declared acceleration to 100 km / h is less than 3 seconds, and the range on a single charge is up to 800 km.
