The mid-size Korean SUV was first introduced in 2002, its name comes from the Italian resort town of Sorrento.Β Since then, the model has managed to change generations several times, and today the fourth generation with the factory index MQ4 is already on the assembly line,Β which premieredΒ in early 2020.Β Only two and a half years have passed, but the Korean company is already preparing a restyled version of the crossover, and test samples have already come across the lens of photo spies several times.

Their front and back parts are still heavily camouflaged, but something can still be seen.Β The Sorento will change the most at the front, with completely new vertical headlights, a similar solution will be used onΒ the flagship EV9 electric crossoverΒ .Β The grille as a whole will retain its trapezoidal shape, while it will receive the original finish.Β The front bumper will also be updated, while the hood and front fenders may remain the same.Β Significant changes are not expected on the side, and there are no visible differences from the current crossover through the camouflage at the back, apparently, the Sorento will retain separate vertical lights.Β However, their graphics will certainly be updated, and there may well be a horizontal LED strip, which many other novelties of the Korean brand have.

It is too early to talk about changes in the technical part, it is quite possible that the restyled model will partially or completely retain the engine range from the current crossover.Β It differs depending on the market: for example, in the USA, the Sorento is offered with a 191-horsepower naturally aspirated 2.5, as well as a turbocharged version of this engine with a capacity of 281 hp.Β There are also a couple of hybrid modifications with a 1.6-liter engine, developing 227 and 261 hp.Β in soft and rechargeable versions, respectively.
