Mercedes-Benz has been producing business class cars since 1975, when the production of the model with the W123 index started. However, they became the E-class only in 1993, when the premiere of the restyled version of the W124 body took place. Prior to this, the suffix “E”, derived from the German word Einspritzung, meant a fuel injection system – this innovative technical solution was first used on the predecessors of the modern E-Class in the 1960s. In the future, all cars of the brand began to use it, so the need for such a designation disappeared. Today, the fifth generation of Eshka with the factory index W213, which was first demonstrated at the beginning of 2016 at the Detroit Auto Show, is on the conveyor. In 2020, the model received a noticeable restyling, now the German company is preparing a new generation of the E-class for the premiere.

Recently published photos on the Web allow you to almost completely see the new front end, which will be the most original among all the brand’s new traditional sedans. As we have seen before, the novelty will receive curved LED elements at the bottom of the headlights, which in some ways is a reference to several generations of the “four-eyed” E-classes. Now it turned out that the very shape of the headlights with a curved lower border will correspond to this. Another interesting element is a black decorative insert between the headlights and the grille (which will retain the traditional outlines), visually uniting them. A similar solution is used by Mercedes-Benz on its electric models. The sidewalls have a relatively simple shape, only a pair of horizontal stampings stand out in the area of the wheel arches, as well as similar to the new S-classretractable door handles. So far, there have been no leaks on the rear, and we only have spy photos with a camouflaged stern. It is quite possible that there will be no special revelations here, and the lights will be made in the style of the same S-class. Plus, we have depicted a variant with more original rear optics in the style of electric models of the brand. In addition, the sedan is shown with new design wheels.

The sixth generation E-Class will be built on the MRA2 (Modular Rear Architecture) platform already used by the aforementioned S-Class, as well as the latest generation GLC crossover . In addition to the exterior, the hallmark of the new Eshka will be the interior with the original horizontally oriented multimedia screen (as opposed to the vertical display on other new products from the company).

The premiere of new items may take place in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, exactly one week ago, the premiere of the most powerful executive sedan Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance took place.
