This week, fresh spy photos of the future business sedan with significantly less camouflage were published on the Web, which revealed some new details of its appearance.
The E-Class in the range of the German automaker first officially appeared in 1993, along with a restyling of the model in the back of the W124. Prior to this, business-class cars did not have a unified naming system, and the suffix “E” came from the word Einspritzung, translated from German meaning fuel injection system (it was the predecessors of modern E-classes that were the first to receive it). Today, the fifth generation of the Yeshki with the factory index W213 is on the conveyor; its premiere took place in early 2016 at the Detroit Auto Show. In the spring of 2020, the car received a restyling, during which its appearance changed very significantly . Now, the next generation of the business sedan is on the way, and thanks to spy photos, we have a sneak peek at what it will look like.
The changes will be evolutionary in nature, and the body design will be made in the style of other fresh new products of the company – C- and S-class sedans.. At the same time, there will be a number of noticeable differences, among them larger headlights with an original pattern of marker LED lights: horizontal stripes will be located in the upper part, which also act as direction indicators, and pairs of semicircular “strokes” will be placed in the lower part, which can be considered a reference to several generations. four-eyed “E-classes. On the side, the new “yeshka” can be recognized by the horizontal stamping, “disappearing” in the area of the central pillar. In expensive trim levels, the E-Class will be equipped with exactly the same retractable door handles as the flagship S-Class. As for the rear, there are no significant differences from other new sedans of the brand through the camouflage.
The sixth generation of the E-class will be built on the MRA2 (Modular Rear Architecture) platform, which is already used by the aforementioned C- and S-classes, as well as the new generation GLC crossover . The car will receive a wide range of gasoline and diesel engines in hybrid versions (both mild and rechargeable).
The premiere of new items is expected in the coming months.
