The German company is preparing a restyled version of its flagship crossover, but for now, using the available spy photos, we decided to imagine what the new product will look like.
Changes in appearance will be evolutionary in nature. One of the most noticeable differences from the current crossover is a new front bumper with body-colored decorative inserts along the edges. Judging by the spy photos, the flagship crossover can get a new radiator grille with four horizontal bars (the current SUV has two). In this case, the headlights, most likely, will remain intact. As for the rear, on the test samples, only the area of the lanterns is hidden with a masking film, which, during restyling, can get new graphics. We have depicted two styling options – in the style of the new GLC crossover and the flagship S-Class sedan.

No significant changes are expected in the technical part. The crossover is built on the MHA (Modular High Architecture) modular platform, which is also used by the younger GLE model. The SUV is equipped with a wide range of gasoline and diesel engines, the top version of the 63 AMG has a 4-liter gasoline V8 with a capacity of 612 hp. (850 Nm). In addition, there is a luxurious modification of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS, which is offered with the same engine, but with a slightly lower return – 558 hp. and 730 Nm of torque. All engines are equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission 9G-TRONIC.
The premiere of new items is expected in the coming months.
Recall that last month the German company officially introduced its new EQE crossover.
