2024 BMW X2, IX2. Recently, the first spy photos of the next generation X2 compact crossover captured during testing were published on the Web. Thanks to them, we have the opportunity to get an idea of how the novelty will look like. So we continue to imagine what the next-generation 2024 BMW X2 will look like?
The X2 model appeared in the line of the Bavarian brand in October 2017, it was then that the premiere of the first generation of the crossover took place. It also became the serial version of the concept of the same name, demonstrated a year earlier at the Paris Motor Show. The crossover has just turned five years old, but the German automaker has already brought samples of the new generation to the tests, which, judging by the spy photos, will be noticeably different from the current one.
First of all, the novelty will receive a different form factor: if the first X2 had an original body for BMW crossovers, more reminiscent of a hatchback, then the second generation will already be made according to the more familiar patterns of the so-called cross-coupe. It will have a relatively long rear overhang and a sloping rear window similar to fastback cars. The front part is made in the style of the new X1, while it will not be completely identical: at least, the headlights of the original shape will appear here, as hinted at by a straight hood connector, and not curved, like the X1. Also, the novelty can receive a radiator grille of the original form. The sides are made in the same style and endowed with the same keyboard door handles. The rear part is the most camouflaged so far, here you can see only the general outlines of the trunk lid and bumper,
As for the technical part, in this regard, the novelty will most likely be in many ways similar to the latest generation X1 crossover , which premiered at the very beginning of last summer. It is built on the front-wheel drive FAAR platform, which is already used by the first series hatchback, as well as the 2 Series Active Tourer minivan and 2 Series Gran Coupe. this platform is adapted to various power plants, including plug-in hybrids. The BMW X1 is equipped with a wide range of engines, the base of which is a 3-cylinder turbocharged 1.5 with 136 hp. (230 Nm). The entry-level diesel option is the sDrive18d, which is equipped with a 2.0-liter 150-horsepower engine with 360 Nm of torque.
Premiere X2 new generation may take place next year.
