Last week, a restyled flagship of the French company with an index of 508 fell into the lens of photo spies for the first time. We decided to imagine what the novelty would look like.
The Peugeot 508 sedan was first introduced in 2010 at the Geneva Motor Show. It replaced two models at once – 407 and 607, produced from 2003 to 2010 and from 1999 to 2010, respectively. The second generation of the car was shown at the beginning of 2018, and unlike its predecessor, it received a liftback body (in addition, there is a station wagon in both generations). The time has already come for a planned restyling, and the other day the camouflaged test samples were first noticed by photo spies. How will the car change during the update?

So far, the front end is heavily camouflaged, and almost no details are visible, with the exception of fragments of vertical LED running lights, which are a hallmark of all new models of the brand. Narrow horizontal headlights will also be preserved, while their shape and content will be new. The car will certainly get a new grille – we have depicted a variant made in the style of the recently introduced Peugeot 408 . On the side, no significant changes are expected, and at the back, the only difference visible in spy photos are new lights with three slanted LED strokes. The restyled model will certainly receive a new logo of the brand, we also depicted a variant with an updated rear bumper – it received a chrome trim at the bottom.

The Peugeot 508 is built on the EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform) platform, which is also used by the DS 7 Sportback, DS 9 models and the Citroen C5 X cross-liftback introduced last year . The engine range includes a PureTech petrol turbo four with a capacity of 180 or 225 hp, as well as 1.5 BlueHDi diesels (130 hp) and 2.0 BlueHDi (160 or 180 hp). All options are equipped with an 8-speed “automatic”. In addition, two years ago, the French showed the most powerful version of the 508 , which is equipped with a 200-horsepower 1.6 PureTech gasoline, a pair of electric motors (110-horsepower on the front axle and 113-horsepower on the rear) and a battery with a capacity of 11.5 kW * h. The combined power of this system is 350 Nm and 520 Nm of torque.
Recall that in early autumn, the premiere of electric versions of the hatchback and station wagon 308 took place.
