Drako Motors was founded by entrepreneurs Dean Draco and Shiv Sikand, its first model in 2019 was a small-scale (circulation of 25 units) GTE electric super sedan with a body from Fisker Karma, a “ennobled” GranStudio studio in Turin, a four-engine power plant with a total capacity of 1217 hp . and a price tag of $1.25 million. The second Drako model, the Dragon crossover (the name is translated into Russian as “demon” or “dragon”), is much cheaper, while it is positioned as a hyper-luxury product, whatever that means.

Overall length Drako Dragon – 5055 mm, width – 2057 mm, height – 1600 mm in the standard suspension position. There are no details about the platform, the pictures only show that the battery is located in the floor of the body, and air struts are used as elastic suspension elements. Ground clearance in the standard, universal Cruise mode is 213 mm, in Tarmac track-asphalt mode – 163 mm, in off-road mode Overland – 315 mm.

The body of the “dragon” is completely made of carbon fiber – this most durable composite made it possible to do without the central pillars of the body and provide the crossover with spectacular and wide gull-wing doors that lead to a spacious 5-seater saloon. Lovi Fermeersch, the founder of the studio and the head of GranStudio, equipped the Dragon with floating rear pillars and a spoiler integrated into the upper part of the front. The declared curb weight of the crossover is 2254 kg, the permissible weight of the towed trailer is 1588 kg.

The interior is typical for modern crossovers, but the finish and detailing do not give the impression of “hyper-luxury”, rather the usual premium American bottling, that is, not the most sophisticated. The laconic front panel is configured for the installation of side screens that replace the exterior mirrors, but the company is still ready to offer conventional mirrors instead of screens (what will happen in this case in place of the side screens is not clear). The center of the front panel is occupied by a 17.1-inch multimedia touch screen with the Drako DriveOS operating system, where all the key car settings are “wired”, there are no physical buttons on the front panel. The multimedia screen frame is thick and glossy, like an inexpensive computer monitor, but the multifunctional steering wheel is very elegant and resembles that of the Lotus Eletre crossover.

The Drako Dragon power plant consists of four electric motors (one for each wheel) with a total capacity of 2028 hp, acceleration to 60 mph (96.56 km / h) takes 1.9 s, a quarter mile crossover can drive in 9 s, maximum speed – over 322 km / h. There are no such powerful serial crossovers on the market yet: Tesla Model X Plaid can offer “only” 1020 hp, Lotus Eletre R – 918 hp, Aehra SUV – about 800 hp. But, perhaps, before 2026, when the production of Drako Dragon begins, worthy rivals will appear.

The battery capacity of the Drako Dragon is not named, only the target range on a single charge is 420 miles (676 km) on the EPA cycle. The maximum charging power is 500 kW, it will allow you to charge the battery by 80% in just 10 minutes. The stock tire size is 285/30 R 23 at the front and 325/30 R 23 at the rear. Brakes – carbon-ceramic: front disc diameter – 420 mm (10-piston calipers), rear – 410 mm (6-piston calipers).

Drako Motors wants to produce 5,000 Dragon crossovers a year, but the debut batch of First Edition will be only 99 copies, to apply, you need to transfer a deposit of $ 5,000 to the company and then wait for an invitation to finalize the deal.
